I’ve enjoyed reading for many years now and thought it would be great to include a 📚 Book Reviews segment here on my blog. It allows me the opportunity to share some great reads with you, that you may enjoy reading yourself. My most recent read is the featured author’s publication called; Murder Times Six.
The book’s title immediately caught my attention, and just had to have a look further into its description. It brought vivid memories and recollection of this horrible event that took place in beautiful 🏞 Wells Gray National Park in British Columbia, Canada.🍁
This is the Province in which I live and spent my entire career in as well.
I was delighted to have the opportunity to read and to offer a personal review of this publication by the author.
About The Author Of Murder Times Six
Alan R. Warren is a well known and respected author of a number of {Best-Selling True Crime} publications. He is also the host and producer of 🏡 House of Mystery, an NBC news radio talk show.
Over the years, Alan has written 📝 articles for {True Case Files Magazine} and still contributes to {Serial Killer Magazine}. To date, he has; 16 true crime books completed for publishers.
He is well respected in the 🚔 law enforcement community, working closely with police, family and relatives in which his stories are based.
The True Story Of The Wells Gray Park Murders
It may seem unusual for me to be reviewing a book of such nature, with my blog primarily related to travel, health & wellness, but this book definitely hit home with me, when I heard of its release.
I am a retired 👮 police officer of 31 years, having worked in the Province of British Columbia the entire time.
I had only been a police officer for about 2 years, when this tragic event occurred. One in which made national news coverage and widespread media attention. I remember the incident well and it was something that most definitely hit home with most everyone, at that time.
It made one realize just how vulnerable we can be at times, especially with such individuals who have little or no regard what so ever, for others.
Fate can be so cruel at times and beyond comprehension!
Remembering The Johnson & Bentley Family
This review is solely based on remembrance of the; Johnson & Bentley Family. A 3 generation family whose lives were so tragically taken years ago.
This family like so many others, were out enjoying a wonderful 🏕 camping adventure together in beautiful 🏞 Wells Gray National Park, back in the summer of 1982.
Their party of 6 were brutally murdered by an individual I refuse to mention in this review. He was later convicted and charged for the murders, and is still incarcerated to this day.
He will be up for parole once again this year.
The author has meticulously described all the events that led up to this tragedy. This includes; police interviews and involvement, statements given by the accused, meetings with immediate family members and much more.
He also explains in detail, how the; Criminal Justice System in Canada and the Parole Board of Canada, operate in this country. It is an excellent read, especially for anyone who has an interest in law enforcement and true crime publications.
The Johnson Bentley Aquatic Center & Memorial
As a wonderful tribute to the lost family members, the City of Kelowna in British Columbia, has named their {Recreation Aquatic Center} in remembrance of those who were victims of this tragic event.

We all must remember just how fragile life can be, and how it can be taken from us in heartbeat.
All of us who enjoy the great outdoors, camping, spending time with friends and family, should never forget just how fortunate we are to continue to do so safely.
For this family, it was just a matter of being at the; wrong place at the wrong time, happening upon a deeply disturbed individual.
