Phoenix International Raceway Camping For Everyone

If you’re heading for a major race event at 🏁 PIR, then be sure to check out the …

🏕 Phoenix International Raceway Camping, 🏕

facilities set up for race fans.

Phoenix, the 🏜 Land of Sun, is an ideal destination to attend a weekend of exciting auto racing!

You are almost guaranteed beautiful ☀ sunshine, warm temperatures and a thrilling weekend of racing. If you and your family have not been to a 🏁 NASCAR Race yet,  then it’s definitely an event worth checking out.

You can pack up the 🚌 RV and camp right at this amazing race track. You don’t know what you’re missing, until you actually experience this type of sporting event in person. Check out this older, but very cool short 📹 video clip, giving you an idea of just what to expect at the races.

Phoenix Speedway is located in 🌵 Avondale, Arizona. The race track is easily accessible and located within 20 miles west of downtown Phoenix. It is situated in a beautiful setting, surrounded by the nearby 🌄 Estralla Mountains.

What other race track in the country is surrounded by beautiful 🏜 cactus and gentle rolling hills?

PIR is a perfect one-mile, low banked, tri-oval race track. It’s not too big and not too small. Fans get to experience the sounds and thrills of stock car racing up close!

One of the great things about attending a race in Arizona, is the likelihood of getting 🌧 rained out is very slim, in this hot and sunny State. You are almost guaranteed beautiful 🌞 sunshine each visit! 🙂

Our family have been coming to and 🏕 camping at these race events here for many years. We travel all the way from …

🍁 British Columbia Canada. 🍁

Phoenix averages 85% annual sunshine, with as little as 8 inches rainfall annually.

Thousands of Campers at PIR

The facilities are ideal, from rustic ⛺ camping sites, paved camping stalls, to first class reserved sites with complete hook ups right at track side. This race track has it all!

You can camp for a full seven days in either reserved or unreserved camping spaces, inside or just outside the race track for very reasonable prices.

What a bargain! 💰

Other than the few premier track side sites, these are dry camping sites, so your unit must be self-contained. Propane, water and waste dumping services are available for a 💵 fee, should you require these extra services during your stay.

There are plenty of on site🚻 portable toilets to use if needed, as well.:)

So you can pick your campsite, purchase 🍩 groceries at the track and enjoy your weekend!

💰 Prices in the grocery are as competitive as if you were shopping in town, all for the convenience of race fans at PIR.

🏕 This is great for us campers!

Note

As it has been a few seasons now since we last camped at the track, I am not sure if a grocery outlet is still available for campers. If you have an update on this, please do send me an email and I will be sure to update this for everyone.

Safeway had taken over providing grocery items for race fans in recent years.

Update 2023

It was just recently announced that {Walmart} will be the grocery provider for the 2023 season, located in the campground area starting the March race weekend.

Great news for campers!

Courtesy Shuttle Trams For Campers

As well, there are continuous courtesy shuttle 🚍buses to taxi you from your campsite to the main gates of the race track. There’s also a number of golf carts available to shuttle you for a small gratuity.

Another bonus and added great feature for campers, is the complimentary 🚿 shower trailers provided for the entire weekend. These conveniences are so great, that the facility provides for the thousands of campers attending the races each year!

Final Thoughts Banner

My brother and I ✈ flew down from 🍁 BC, Canada for the {2021 Championship Race Weekend}, that was held; November 05-07, 2021. What a fabulous race weekend it was, with 4 great races!

My only complaint was the price of 🍺 beer – holy crap!! Especially converted from 💵 Canadian to U.S. dollars. Yikes!

2023 Season Update

The first premier NASCAR race weekend event for 2023 was held on March 10th-12th.
The {NASCAR Cup Championship Weekend} will be held; November 03rd – 05th.
