A visit to 🏖 Lamai Beach is definitely something that cannot be missed, when traveling to the beautiful 🏝 Island of Koh Samui Thailand.
A magnificent peaceful stretch of beach, with a more quiet and relaxed town center on the island. Perfect for those that prefer a quieter atmosphere, but still with all the amenities one desires while on vacation.
This part of the island was most certainly my favorite part, when we visited the island a few seasons ago as part of our holidays in Thailand.

Situated to the South of the main busy town center of Chaweng, and the more popular …
you will find the village of Lamai and its beautiful stretch of beach.
Lamai is smaller than Chaweng center, but ranks second in village size on the island. So there’s no shortage of; shops, restaurants, bars and nightclubs.
As well, there’s accommodation to fit most anyone’s desires and budget.
Lamai is definitely a more laid back atmosphere, to that of the hustle and bustle of Chaweng. It’s an easy and quick 🚕 cab or Songtaew ride to this area for those wishing just a day visit from town, like we did.

If I were to return to Koh Samui, this is where I would hang my hat for my next stay! 🙂 We ventured off in our Songtaew Taxi truck and were in Lamai in no time.

Lovely white sand beaches, crystal clear waters and areas of the beach to suit all ages for safe swimming. If you enjoy quiet days and just relaxing on the beach, Lamai is perfect!
With friendly vendors offering freshly prepared; barbecue corn on the cob, chicken, fish, egg rolls, fresh fruit and so much more during the day, this is the perfect place to chill and relax.

For those who enjoy water sports, Lamai has pretty much everything available to choose from. There are plenty of rental businesses that offer a variety of water sports.

and so much more!
Get A Great Massage On Lamai Beach
As with any other place on the island, treat yourself to a wonderful; Thai massage, both on or off the beach. These people are well trained in their craft and at least a foot massage is something you must do, when visiting any part of Thailand. 🙂
Treat yourself to incredibly affordable; professional massages, manicures and so much more, easily found on most beaches, villages and main town centers.
This is definitely a main attraction for most visitors, when traveling anywhere in Thailand.

Muaythai Boxing School In Lamai
Lamai Beach is also known for its professionally run 🥊 Muaythai Boxing Camps. We happened to walk past a club and were able to watch some individuals train for a short while.
People come from all over the world to learn {Muaythai} and train right here in – Lamai.
Attractions Around Lamai Beach
One of the most visited and most extraordinary attractions in this area are the Hin Ta – Hin Yai Rock Formations. These rocks are definitely unusual resting along the shores of Lamai area.
I’ll let your imagination run wild and you decide what these formations resemble. A huge attraction for 📸 photography buffs, along with many embarrassing and smiling faces as well!
Mummified Monk at Wat Khunaram
A typical lovely Buddhist Temple like so many others to discover in Thailand, but this one comes with a unique twist. Here, lie the mummified remains of the – Monk Luong Pordaen.
This temple is full of history for those wishing to learn more about the Buddhist faith, this extraordinary exhibit and the teachings of Luong Pordaen.
A worthwhile visit for those people who enjoy the beauty and peaceful surroundings of a Buddhist temple.
It really doesn’t matter where on the island you choose to stay. There are lovely, unique places scattered all around, making your Koh Samui Island Holidays perfect!
I do however suggest a visit or stay to Lamai and its beautiful beach, to be added into your vacation plans.
