With well over 125,000 hotel rooms in Las Vegas and not counting other forms of accommodation available to tourists, it comes with no surprise that ๐Ÿจ Apartment & Hotel Scams ๐Ÿจ are high on the list.

Rental scams occur on a daily basis in Vegas.

So much so, it has been reported that the ๐Ÿš” Las Vegas Police cannot assist with these types of complaints any longer. This is due to the high number reported each and every day.

It really gets down to โ€œBuyer Beware,โ€ and particularly when booking ๐Ÿ›Œ accommodations,
on your own. Especially so, without using a reputable online travel supplier, that has been around for many years.

Many well known and trusted online suppliers, do provide fraud protection guarantees!

As well, a reputable local professional travel agent can make these bookings for you, and depending on your travel arrangements made with them, with no extra charge.

Thatโ€™s their job!

Unfortunately, people will see written ads in newspapers, on-line or in any other form of advertising. Because the price seems unbeatable, they take the ๐ŸŽฃ bait and fall prey to these scammer’s.

Canadian Currency

They will leave ๐Ÿ’ธ deposits in one form or another, for the room they are expecting to get in return. Once they arrive at their destination, they are shocked to find that it either does not exist, or there is no reservation booked for them at that property.

They have been scammed and because the booking was made on their own, they have lost your deposit and often times, the full amount paid upfront. These people are then left having to find alternative accommodations at their own additional expense.

Always use a {Reputable On-Line Travel Supplier} or a {Respectable Local Travel Agent}.

The VIP Pass Scam

Scams In Las Vegas #2
Las Vegas VIP Passes

This is another incredibly huge scam that goes on in the city and these people, are making millions of dollars each year, from this!

The Nightlife is a huge reason why many people love to come to this city. From live entertainment to enjoying the many nightclubs, itโ€™s all a part of the … Vegas Experience!

It is reported that only about five percent of the people now coming to Las Vegas, come to ๐ŸŽฒ gamble. It’s the attractions, entertainment and nightlife that draw visitors to the city.

With this and of course, there has to be some sort of scam involved with; nightlife and clubs. It is the Very Important Person (VIP) coupon scam!

Attractions in Las Vegas

There are well over 35 nightclubs in Vegas that hold two thousand people alone, not to mention all the other smaller clubs in the city.

The nightclub industry is huge and you will be approached by ๐Ÿ˜ˆ street hustlers or foot soldiers on the streets.
They will do anything they can to sell you {๐ŸŽŸ VIP tickets}, to some of the busier and well known nightclubs.

These ๐Ÿ˜ˆ street hustlers are the middle men for suppliers, who will pay them a commission for each ticket sold on the street.

Once you enter the establishment with your marked ticket, they will then pay the supplier a percentage, for having gotten you into their club.

Quite a ๐ŸŽพ racket, but hereโ€™s the kicker!

New York New York Hotel Las Vegas

You will be told on the street, that these special priced ๐ŸŽŸ VIP passes, will allow you to bypass the long lines at the door, getting you straight into the club. The typical cost on the street for these passes varies, but normally you can expect to pay anywhere from $5 to $10 per person minimum.

That will include your entry pass and a free drink. Normally they will ask for around $20 minimum for two people.

The Scam

Super VIP Pass

So you buy these great ๐ŸŽŸ VIP passes and that evening, head to the club. You arrive, only to discover that the VIP line is much longer than the regular line, for those without passes.
Thought you were getting a free ๐Ÿน drink?

Not a chance!

Itโ€™s just part of the street hustlerโ€™s sales pitch to get you to buy these entry passes.

So, when going out to the clubs in the evening, donโ€™t buy your entry tickets on the street from strangers.

Helpful Tips Banner

Just go to the club, purchase your entry fee there, and you will get in much quicker than those who got scammed on the street. If you happen to be a woman and you approach these clubs with another woman or two, you will magically walk straight into club!

In Vegas, there is typically a {3 to 1}, man to woman ratio. These nightclubs want women inside, as this entices male patrons to purchase drinks for these single ladies, thus making them more money.

Do Not Buy Your Nightclub Tickets on the Street from Hustlers

Las Vegas Taxi Scams

Scams In Las Vegas #3

This scam has been around forever, and is used by ๐Ÿš• taxi drivers all over the world. ๐Ÿ—บ

It is known as … โ€œlong haulingโ€ or taking you for a joy ride!

Scams In Las Vegas

In Las Vegas, the โœˆ airport is just minutes from The Strip, unlike most typical airports in large metropolitan cities around the world. So, many ๐Ÿš– taxi drivers will needlessly take you on a longer ride than is necessary, to your ๐Ÿจ hotel from the airport.

When drivers were interviewed, a typical long haul ๐Ÿจ taxi ride could cost you about five to ten dollars extra from the airport.

These joy rides can occur anywhere and at any time. Particularly, if the driver is aware that you are new to the city and have no idea where you are going.

Helpful Tips Banner

Itโ€™s easy to find out what a typical cab ride fare is, {to and from} most any airport these days. Just ask an attendant at the taxi stand, or enquire at an information desk before entering the cab.

Or, just simply; ๐Ÿ“ฑ Google It!!

I always spend a few minutes on the internet when selecting; ๐Ÿš bus transfers or ๐Ÿš– taxi rides, prior to leaving home, for our intended destination. If you are concerned about your spending as we are, then the time can be well spent and help save you money!

Know what the fare typically is to your chosen destination, prior to entering that taxi cab.
