Discover great overnight 🚌 RV Parking and 🛍 Shopping at {Valley River Center Mall} in Eugene, Oregon.
One season, while on our annual trek south to the 🏁 NASCAR Races in our recreational vehicle, we decided to take a different route to our final destination – 🏜 Phoenix International Raceway.
After reviewing and receiving information from the {Good Sam Club} camping forum, we decided to follow the recommendations of others and stay overnight at the 🏬 Valley River Center Mall.
Making our way from our home in 🍁 British Columbia, Canada it’s always nice to stop in the {State of Oregon} to do some 🛍 shopping, as there is presently no sales tax.
So by stopping here, we were able to check this boondocking spot out, as well as do some shopping the next morning.
Excellent Overnight Secure Parking
After getting directions prior to our departure from home, I set the {GPS} and we eventually made our way to this Shopping Mall in the City of Eugene.
This was after our first overnight stop at the beautiful 🏨 Tulalip Casino Resort Hotel in Washington State. Just another outstanding resort offering complimentary overnight parking for self-contained recreational vehicles.
Upon our arrival in the early evening, I easily spotted two other 🚌 RV’s parked in the northwest corner lot.
This is where others on the forum had instructed me to go and park. Not 10 minutes passed and a Mall 👮 Security Staff member drove up to our motor home and introduced himself.
He had us fill out a simple 📝 registration form with emergency contact information, should we need assistance throughout the night.
The security guard was very friendly and advised that we could stay overnight for 2 nights and that they are on duty – 24 hours a day.
What a pleasant surprise this was, making us very happy that we chose to stay here and do our shopping at their Mall the next morning!
The Valley River Mall
The Valley River Center Mall is the one of the largest shopping centers situated between Portland Oregon and San Francisco California area.
Shoppers will be pleased to discover over one hundred and thirty national and local brand stores located here, along with a variety of restaurants to choose from as well.
A few of the more popular and recognizable stores include;
- ✔ Macy’s;
- ✔ JCPenney;
- ✔ Banana Republic;
- ✔ American Eagle Outfitters;
- ✔ Sports Authority;
- ✔ Foot Locker;
and much more!
As well and also attached to the Mall, you will find 🎦 Regal Cinemas. If you arrive early, you can enjoy an evening at the Movies if you so desire!
Willamette River Trail
If you travel with 🐕 pets as we do, you will also be pleasantly surprised to discover a lovely 🚶 walking and 🚲 biking trail, located right alongside your parking spot.
The trail is located next to the Willamette River, where we enjoyed a nice evening stroll after our days drive.
The trail is right next to the 🏨 Willamette River Inn, located adjacent to the Mall. The next morning we walked the length of the trail along the river before the stores opened, to begin our tax free 🛍 shopping spree!
If you find your way to the City of Eugene in the State of Oregon, whether by RV or car and wish to do some shopping, then I definitely recommend a stop at this Mall.

Update
It appears the Mall no longer allows overnight RV parking according to latest updates on the internet. One individual on the forum called the {VRC Manager’s Office}, to see if RV parking was still allowed. He was told at that time, they have now stopped allowing overnight RV parking.
Be sure to check with the Malls security to confirm this when you arrive. If you do have an update, please send me an 📧 email from my {Contact Page} here and I will update this post for others to see.
Even if you can’t park overnight, it’s still a great spot to take a break, stretch your legs on the trail and do some shopping.
