Over the years, I’ve sustained a number of unfortunate injuries. As I’ve grown older, have contributed to areas of my body that now have developed arthritis. I workout regularly, eat well, but also see my local chiropractor on a regular basis.
I know for a fact, he has helped my overall health and wellness – tremendously.
For those baby boomers out there and anyone else for that matter, I urge you to consider visiting a chiropractor. It’s a safe and natural way, to help prevent and relieve overall aches and pains.

Avoid Back Pain After Flight by Stretching Hips and Legs
You settle into your fairly comfortable 💺 seat on the ✈ airplane and, prepare for take off. It could be a short flight of a couple of hours, or one that goes halfway around the world.
Either way, you are limited to a minimal amount of space for moving around. After a while, you start shifting and squirming in your chair. The level of comfort that was there but limited at the beginning, has now completely gone out the window!
One reason for that, is because your spine is meant to be in motion. When you sit for too long, the muscles around it start to tighten up, putting even more pressure on it.
That pressure turns into lower back pain!
You can prevent it from happening, by getting up and moving around every; 20 to 30 minutes. Even if it’s a short 🚶 walk down the aisle and back, a little movement is better than, no movement at all.
Sitting still for too long can result in something called; deep vein thrombosis or blood clots, forming in the legs.
There can be pain and swelling that occur, but in some instances, there are no symptoms. If a blood clot forms and breaks loose, you could end up blocking the blood flow to your lungs, resulting in a pulmonary embolism. 🙁
If you’re going to be on a plane for an extended period of time, getting up and moving and stretching every half hour is; extremely important!

As well, while seated for your hips and legs, straightening out your legs and reaching for your feet is also helpful and gets the blood flowing.
Any motion you can do from where you are seated, that allows you to stretch your muscles, is going to relieve some tension and stiffness, especially on the hip flexors and hamstrings.
Those body parts remaining immobile for too long, will also lead to low back pain.
There are times you have no choice, but to stay in a seated position for an extended period. While you are, make sure to keep your posture as perfect as possible.
It’s the best way to support your spine and put it in its natural positioning, to avoid pain and discomfort.
How To Travel In A Car With A Bad Back
You may already be dealing with a bad back, so the idea of getting into a car, to drive long distance, can be a bit daunting. There are ways you can get through the trip, without adding to your pain and discomfort.
Get yourself a quality lumbar pillow to sit with, while in the 🚗 vehicle. This allows for more support for your lower back. It should sit above the hips and below the small of the back.
Sleeping in a car and/or airplane seat, can be extremely uncomfortable. You can really put your spine out of alignment, especially if slouched over in; unnatural positions.
Using a neck pillow, can keep everything in better alignment, and helps to prevent unnecessary pressure, that leads to back pain.
A few other pointers to keep in mind while traveling in the car include;
✔Adjust the seat to a comfortable position;
✔Don’t carry your wallet in your pocket – it tilts the pelvis;
✔Use the cruise control to rest your legs;
✔Alternate your hand positioning;
✔Take a break every few hours for stretching and movement.
Be Aware Of Your Luggage To Prevent Back Pain
🧳 Luggage is a big part of traveling. If possible, purchase luggage with roller wheels. This is much better then carrying it next to you, making your back work harder than it has to.
The less you have to lift, the fewer chances you have to strain or injure something.
It’s imperative that you never lift anything that’s too heavy for you. Think about everything that you are packing and decide whether or not, if it’s something, that you really need. If you can reduce the amount you’re packing, it will definitely lighten your load.
It’s going to be much better for your back, if you lift several light suitcases, instead of one big heavy one.
When you are lifting, make sure that you keep your back straight and use your knees as a; power source.
Keep your suitcase close to your body and tighten up your core muscles to balance out your back. When lifting🧳 luggage in an overhead bin on a plane, make sure that you do it in stages. Start with it on the floor and then move it to the seat.
From there, you can either move it to the top of the seat, or up to the bin. Never try to go directly from the floor to the bin. It’s at the final range-of-motion point that most injuries occur.
By breaking it down into different stages, you won’t be straining to that level.
Visit A Chiropractor Before Travel For Pain Free Prevention
