One of the main reasons I started my first travel 📖 blog, was to be able to document and share our personal travel adventures and 📸 photos with family and friends.
From there it just escalated into a Passion, and one I thoroughly enjoy spending my free time 📝 writing on today.
Blogging can be a lot of fun, and a great way to interact with others who enjoy the same things you do. After retiring from my career of 30 years, blogging became more of a hobby for me.
I enjoyed crafting my 📝 writing skills, and learning as much as I possibly could about the 🌎 world of blogging.
❓ Just What Is A Blog Anyway You Ask ❓
I’m sure most of you who are unfamiliar with the word Blog are thinking, just what is a so called Blog anyway?
Well in a nutshell, the term blog refers to a; {web log}, or an online website diary.
It really is, just a diary of what you enjoy writing about and sharing with others around the world. Today, there are literally millions of blogs out there on the internet, for just about everything imaginable.
For me, it revolves around my true passion since childhood and that is … ✈ travel.

Reasons To Start A Travel Blog – A Great Hobby
I started my first travel blog over 11 years ago, after discovering and reading other peoples blogs on the internet. I was amazed by how easy it was for them to share their worldly 🤿 experiences and 📸 photos, with everyone around the world.
I thought, what a great way to easily share our travel adventures and photographs with family and friends. All with just a click of a computer 🐭 mouse!
As well, it was an excellent way of making my blog a permanent diary of our wonderful travel experiences and photographs, taken along the way.
A great and easy way for our entire family to access at any time they wish!
Taking The Next Leap Forward In Blogging
I spent the first 2 years improving my writing skills, and learning as much as I could from other leading bloggers around the globe. I decided to take a further step in the world of blogging.
I created my very own unique website and name brand {Gr8 Travel Tips}, back in 2012. I realized that over the years, and having worked in the travel industry in various positions, I had something more to offer.
I realized that I could share with others, the things that I had learned and experienced in all my years of travel, both 👌 good and 👎 bad.
I began traveling as a boy and was bitten by the travel 🐞 bug early in life. I was very fortunate to have parents that also enjoyed traveling and who could afford to do so.
In my younger days I became a 🚌 Charter Tour Bus driver with Trailways Canada. 🍁 The photo above is the actual bus I drove many years ago! I loved the opportunity to drive people to various holiday destinations throughout North America. I was young at the time, and actually felt like I was on vacation as well! 🙂
I also attended a prestigious 🏫 {Travel College} years later here in 🍁 Canada, becoming a; Certified Travel Agent. After retiring from my full time career, I went on to work part time with a major 🛳 Cruise Holiday Booking Franchise.
I absolutely love to travel!
When I look up into the sky and see a passenger ✈ jet flying above I’m always wondering, where are they off to?
My wife and I also enjoy all forms of travel. From 🛳 cruises, all inclusive vacations, eco-adventure to camping vacations, we love it all! 🙂
Reasons to Start A Travel Blog – Blogging For Profit
With my previous years of travel and having worked in the industry, I realized that I was qualified to make the next step in the world of blogging. Turning my blogging into more than just a hobby, I knew I had something that I could offer others.
I set a goal for myself, and that was to eventually be able to {work and partner} with a variety of travel related businesses around the world. 🌎 To assist in promoting their business on a 🗺 global scale, both on my blog and throughout all the major {Social Media} platforms on the internet.
Like any business, blogging definitely has its rewards for years of hard work and complete dedication!

Our family has enjoyed all kinds of different travel over the years. From fabulous 🛳 Cruise Holidays, 🏝 All Inclusive Vacations to many beautiful tropical destinations around the world. As well, taking great 🏕 camping vacations in our recreational vehicle throughout North America.
As you can see, once you get started blogging about something you love, then the skies the limit!
I’ve had so much fun with my blog watching it grow over the years and developing a wonderful following. I enjoy getting more creative, honing my writing skills and learning much more on how to become a trusted and accountable blogger.
Interacting with my readers, other bloggers and followers on Major Social Media Accounts, is also a big part of blogging taken to the next level.
It’s definitely a lot of work for me, but a lot of fun and very rewarding at the same time. 🙂
If you have always thought about starting a blog, then don’t put it off any longer. It’s a wonderful way to save and cherish your holiday memories forever. My only regret, is that only wish I started my blog many years ago!
There’s no age requirement and for those who may be retired, what a great way to spend some time on the computer. Start putting a diary of your fondest memories together for all to enjoy!
