arranged at that time, with Ever Blue Travel.
Whenever I visit any ๐ tropical beach destination around the globe, the first thing I try to book is a; ๐คฟ Snorkeling or Scuba Diving Tour.
I spotted this adventure from the tour desk located in our hotel lobby, and just had to go!
Situated right inside the lobby of our beautiful oceanfront ๐จ hotel in Nha Trang, was a friendly tour excursion agent with; Ever Blue Travel.
Arrangements were made to head out the next morning, to one of the most beautiful nearby islands, known as … ๐ Hon Mun.

Hon Mun,ย also referred to as {Ebony Island}, is a pristine ๐คฟ scuba diving and snorkeling destination.
It’s located just minutes from Nha Trang town center by ๐ค speed boat.
This island is also a {Protected Marine Reserve} in Vietnam, managed by; ๐ Marine Protected Area (MPA) of Nha Trang.

Located on the south of Nha Trang Bay among a few other scattered islands, this is by far, the favorite island for underwater enthusiasts.

Picked up at our hotel promptly by our ๐ Ever Blue Travel driver, we were off to a nearby marina, to catch our ๐ค speed boat across to the island.
Located at the marina, is also the {Museum of Oceanography}, and our tour just happened to include a short visit to the ๐ Aquarium.

Halls lined with tanks full of beautiful ๐ tropical fish, larger ones housing;
๐ข sea turtles, ๐ฆ sharks and much more. The visit was interesting, before continuing on and climbing onto our boat.
The weather was clearing from morning ๐ง showers and overcast skies, so the timing was perfect to board our speedboat!

Arriving at the Marina earlier, the skies were eerily dark and raining slightly.

having arrived in โ Port early in the morning.
The marina was bustling with tour boats of all sizes, as we made our way onto the speed boats.
It was a ๐ race across the Bay to the island, to see who would be the first in the water at our destination … ๐ Hon Mun Island!
With the skies clearing and the water turning clearer as we approached, I was looking forward to snorkeling, in yet another part of the world.

As soon as our snorkeling equipment supplied by the tour operator was fitted to our liking, into the warm clear waters we went.
The first thing I noticed was the remarkable shape the condition of the coral was, especially for being such a tourist bound destination.

Beautiful coral surrounded our entire ๐คฟ dive and snorkel area!
Such a pleasant surprise compared to other destinations we’ve traveled to, where the coral was smoothed over and ruined by tourists.
Just as luck would have it, my underwater ๐ธ camera which I had gone scuba diving, with on many prior dive trips, leaked!
My camera was ruined and my chance of taking a few pictures of the beautiful coral, was not to be. ๐
How disappointing when one pays for an expensive underwater camera, only to find, and after just a few short years, it leaks.
Aarrggg!!!

The water was crystal clear and very warm when we visited in November. We were very comfortable in our bathing suits only!
The island is surrounded with lovely coral reefs, with beautiful colorful ๐ marine life, surrounding the coral!

After enjoying at least 1 hour snorkeling in the warm sea enjoying the view, we then boarded our boat and headed to a small floating fish farm.
This farm was scattered with a few floating homes. We made a brief pit stop and given the opportunity to purchase a ๐บ refreshment, at the local floating store.

It was then on our way to another larger neighboring island. On this island, it was time to enjoy an excellent Vietnamese outdoor lunch, along the shores of the South China Sea.
After given plenty of time to enjoy our lunch and relax, it was then back onboard our boat, for the journey back to the marina. Our shuttle bus was waiting upon our arrival, taking us for a brief ride back to our hotel.
Although the skies were cloudy and rainy at times, it was a great way to spend the morning. Nothing beats a day on and in the water, ๐คฟ snorkeling!
Later, enjoying a nice lunch and chance to mingle with our other travelers, from different parts of the world! ๐
If your plans should take you to the coastal resort {City of Nha Trang}, and you enjoy snorkeling or scuba diving, then definitely consider heading out to Hon Mun.

After a recent search on the internet, it appears this business is no longer in operation. There are however, other reputable travel outlets listed, offering superb snorkeling tours.
