🌺 Busan 🌺
Busan is South Korea’s second largest city, situated on the southern coast of the country.

Busan Beaches For Tourists & Locals
It is just over 420 kilometers from Seoul, and can be easily and quickly reached by 🚅 Bullet Train. This is how we traveled and it can be done by Express Bullet Train in about 2 1/2 hours.
Busan is a very popular tourist destination, and especially for locals. It has wonderful beaches, parks, cultural history and much more.
We chose to stay on Gwangalli Beach, which was a little less busy then the very popular Haeundae Beach around the Bay. This area is known as; Suyeong-g.
We selected a superb quaint oceanfront 🛋 Airbnb 🛌, with a spectacular view of Diamond Bridge across the water.
We opted to stay for 3 nights, after only wishing we would have stayed longer. From Busan, we flew across to the island of Jeju to spend a few nights.
There’s so much to see and do in and around Busan, so I would recommended a minimum of 3 to 5 nights for your stay.
Busan Public Transportation
Getting around Busan is easy by public transportation. Busan has an efficient, clean, and visitor-friendly public transportation. Metro Subway and City Buses. Also Uber and Taxis are reasonable.
The Busan Station (KTX & SRT) train, and the subway station are directly connected.
Their T-money / Transit Cards are reloadable cards you can easily purchase at the airport, bus stations and convenience stores.
You simply add money to the card, scan it when boarding and you’re on your way!

Popular Attractions In Busan
A few notable attractions to visit and spend time at include;
Haeundae Beach:
A busy Waikiki Beach like setting, where you’ll find upscale hotels, skyscrapers, cafes, restaurants, scenic coastal walking paths and more.
Haeundae Blueline Park:
This is a very popular area along the coastline, with the colorful, retro Sky Capsules and coastal trains running along scenic promenade.
Gwangalli Beach:
A lovely stretch of beach offering numerous accommodations, restaurants, shops and of course a front-row view of the illuminated Gwangandaegyo (Diamond Bridge) at night.
Haedong Yonggungsa Temple:
A rare and striking Buddhist temple built directly on rocky seaside cliffs overlooking the ocean.
Haewol Observatory Busan
Haewol Observatory is located along the Busan Green Railway walking trail, and offers beautiful coastal views from the platform. It is free to enter this awesome attraction.
Busan Public Markets
Busan is also known for its busy street market culture, including very affordable night food stalls within the markets.
We enjoyed most of our meals sampling the many local dishes in the markets. A few popular markets to visit during your stay include;
Jagalchi Market:
South Korea’s largest seafood market, located along the Nampo-dong waterfront. Vendors actively sell live catches on the ground floor, where it can be prepared for you upstairs in the market restaurants.
Gukje Market:
One of Busan’s oldest and largest traditional markets. A maze of alleys within, with vendors selling clothing, household items, souvenirs, street food stalls and more.
Bupyeong Kkangtong Market:
Situated right next to Gukje Market, it is famous for its bustling night market. Local favorite dishes include; bibim dangmyeon (spicy glass noodles), yubu jumeoni (stuffed tofu pockets) and spicy tteokbokki.
We sampled everything and it was all delicious!
Haeundae Traditional Market:
Located near Haeundae Beach, this market has many street food options to choose from including; grilled hagfish (gomjangeo), hand-cut noodles (kalguksu), seafood pancakes and Busan fish cakes.
When planning your visit, be sure to include a night market into your travel plans. This is the place to sample some delicious local dishes and at very affordable prices.
If you are planning a visit to South Korea, I highly recommend including a stay in Busan and especially at one of the popular beaches. You won’t be disappointed!
We had a great stay before continuing our journey across to the island of Jeju.
✈ Gimhae International Airport also known as Busan Airport, offer numerous daily flights to/from Busan & Jeju. The flight takes just 1 hour.
