A Long Retired Fish Boat

A presentation of personal 📸 photographs taken, during our travels over the years. This time we head to the 🎣 fishing village of Ucluelet located on the rugged west coast of 🌲 Vancouver Island in the Province of British Columbia,🍁 Canada.

Retired Fish Boat Evelyn May

Retired Fish Boat

This old retired fish boat is a fixture in downtown – Ucluelet. The {Evelyn May} certainly must have some old 🐟 fish stories to tell. From its time spent in the rugged frigid waters of the 🌊 Pacific Ocean, on the West Coast of Canada!

Today, it rests comfortably on private property for everyone to see, on the main street of town. Visitors like myself, love taking the opportunity to capture a 📸 photo, of this piece of history!

Commercial fishing is still a major industry and livelihood for many living in this part of the Province of BC.

Ucluelet means … “People of the Safe Harbour” in the indigenous; Nuu-chah-nulth language, of the First Nations people of the island.

Once a small fishing community, today Ucluelet has grown into a very popular tourist destination. It is within minutes of the world renowned; {Long Beach}, located in British Columbia’s … 🏞 Pacific Rim National Park 🏞
