Back in 2005, CNN named Bainbridge Island in {Washington State}, the second best place to live, in all of the United States.

As one of the most notable commuter towns in the State, Bainbridge has always functioned, as a transport hub of sorts. But Bainbridge is also that picture perfect destination, for a fun day outing and/or, a mini get a way vacation.

It has all the travel and lodging necessities, to accommodate your visit.

Bainbridge has evolved to make room for the thousands of 📸 tourists, that come to visit the Island each year, to experience what the community has to offer.
 




 

Getting To Bainbridge Island

Getting to Bainbridge is easy!

You can choose to walk, bike or and/or take your car onto the 🛳 Ferry, which departs from Seattle harbor. It’s only about a 35 minute crossing. The service is operated by the Washington State Ferry Service.

You can find a ⛓ link on the {Official Bainbridge Island} website, directing you to the ferries main page. You can access the; ferry schedule, pricing and more. I have listed the link at the bottom of this post, for easy access.

Parking And Accommodations At Bainbridge Island

🏡 Lodging facilities and services abound in the area and there’s no shortage of; accommodation and dining options for day visitors, or those on an extended trip.

If you plan on driving your 🚗 car, space is limited in town, for parking. This, especially so during the peak season months of; June, July and August. With the influx of visitors in recent years, Bainbridge is working on improving the
parking situation in the area.

Tourists traveling to Bainbridge should definitely take time, to visit some of their beautiful 🏞 Parks and Reserves.
Guided tours are always available, for those who might want to visit some of the more popular points of interest including;

Fay Bainbridge Park, Bloedel Reserve, Fort Ward,Battle Point Park
The more adventurous can always opt for; 🚶 self-guided longer discovery treks, in the area.

There’s also a wealth of other options available in the community to enjoy, during your visit. Such things as …

Bainbridge Gardens;
Churchmouse Yarns & Teas;
Esther’s Fabrics;
Pine Needles, and the;

Is there a Farmers Market on Bainbridge Island?
Yes, Open 10-2pm every Saturday, April-November (rain or shine!) The market is located a short walk from ferry.
Is there a Nature Park right off the ferry?
The waterfront trail starts at the top of the ferry terminal and along the water through the town of Winslow.
Are there lots of eateries and shops to visit without a car?
Yes, there are lots of unique restaurants, as well as wineries with tasting rooms in Winslow.
What is one of the most beautiful attractions on the island to visit?
The Bloedel Reserve is a beautiful botanical garden surrounded by forest. For nature lovers, there is also long trails to explore throughout the property.
How far is the town of Winslow from the ferry terminal?
The town of Winslow (downtown Bainbridge Island) is very close to the ferry terminal, an easy 2 block walk.
