A Travel Guide To The Empire State Building In New York City
Table of Contents
On our visit to New York City a few seasons ago, one of the many attractions we enjoyed was definitely the Empire State Building. Full of history and with a view that will leave you breathless, this is a Must See designated;
🏛 National Historic Landmark 🏛
attraction, when visiting the city.
The view atop the 86th floor is – Amazing!
A Little Bit About The Empire State Building
This beautiful refurbished building rises above 102-stories, or 1,453 feet tall to its peak and is situated in {Midtown Manhattan}, on Fifth Avenue between West 33rd and 34th Streets.
It received its name from New York’s famous handle – The Empire State!
The skyscraper was constructed in just 410 days, a phenomenal feat and to become the tallest building in the world back in 1931. It was successful in this venture and remained the tallest building for almost 40 years.
An amazing accomplishment in the 1930’s, with most of the construction and steel workers who were immigrants having recently arrived and starting a new life in – New York City.
Be sure to check out the complete history of this lovely historic building at Wikipedia. Below, I have added their website for your convenience to learn more about the – Empire State Building.
The 86th Floor of the Empire State Building
Entering the main lobby entrance of the {Empire State Building}, is like taking a step back in time. A beautifully restored building in Manhattan, making this a true 💎 gem of the city!
Experience an incredible view of {New York City}, from their largest indoor and outdoor observation deck. You can stroll 360 degrees either indoors or outdoors from this floor and experience a view like no other!
For an additional fee, head on up another 16 floors to the top floor – 102 stories up. Here, you can enjoy a smaller indoor viewing deck, if you desire.

My wife and I found 86 floors up was plenty high enough and we were able to take in the spectacular view of the city, from both indoors and outdoors.
We decided to take in this attraction just before sunset, to see the city come alive at night, with lights beginning illuminate everywhere!
Expect Extremely Busy Queue Lines
We loved our visit to New York City in late September a few seasons back. The weather was perfect and the crowds not as intense, as during the summer months.
Although busy, the line for entry moved quickly and was well organized, with staff directing you all the way until you reached the top.
A Spectacular View On The 86th Floor
As you can see, the view from the {86th floor} is stunning and certainly worth the wait!
Enjoy the mesmerizing view and the height from which you are seeing the city from at your leisure.
You can take in the view both inside or outside and walk completely around the building. An awesome 360 degree view of New York City!
