Everyone loves an open 🔥 campfire and this is one of the easiest ways to get kids excited about camping. Having a campfire and outdoor cooking is a blast, and can be one of the greatest enjoyments of camping.
Let your kids know this is part of what you plan to do on your camping adventures, and things they would like to cook over an open 🔥 fire while camping! π
Do A Practice Run Camping With Your Kids
One of the best ways to be prepared and ready is doing a camping practice run. This is always a good idea especially if your going to be 🎒 backpacking.
You need to make sure that all the items you need to bring along will fit inside those 🎒 backpacks and won’t be too heavy. You want everyone to be comfortable with the weight of the backpack, especially if hiking.
Once you get properly packed, it’s time to practice and see if you and your kids can comfortably carry those loads. It is also a good idea to practice in your backyard if ⛺ tenting. Try setting up your tent and be sure to let your kids help as well. This is a good time to experiment with your sleeping arrangements.
Choosing The Right Camping Location Especially For Kids
Being the adult, it’s obviously your job to make sure that all of you are going to be; safe and comfortable at your location.
Learn as much as you can beforehand in regards to the; area, weather conditions, amenities, playgrounds and so on for your selected camping destination.
Understand Your Child’s Limitations
What you can do and what your kids can, are not of course, always going to be on the same level. They have more limitations than you, and you should know just how far you can go with them.
This, especially so if going on a 🥾 hiking type camping adventure.
Let Kids Be Kids And Let Them Explore When Camping
Having outdoor activities means staying away from classroom type restrictions. Let your children explore and just have fun! You will be amazed at how much they can accomplish on their own, especially when helping out around the campsite.
Learning how to survive outdoors is all about trying to live with nature. Be sure to educate your kids about being; safe in the outdoors and while camping. Taking the necessary precautions for wildlife, such as 🐻 bears.
Teach them about not leaving 🍕 food laying around and putting your campfires out properly when not using them.
Keeping Your Kids Entertained When Camping
Camping in the great outdoors can be a very special time. Especially today in our electronic world, it’s important to get your kids away from those video games and television. Encourage them to be more active, by setting a good example.
Going camping is a great way to start, especially for all members of the family!
Be Creative And Experiment When Camping
For a more fun camping trip, you can actually just let nature lead the way. Your kids will probably love you more if you would just be as natural as the surrounding.
Take them 🥾 hiking, or just lie down with them on a clear night and watch the moon and the stars. Anything is possible, just donβt forget to take lots of 📸 pictures for those lasting memories. π
Keep On Camping
Camping in the great outdoors is certainly not for everyone. But with the many different ways to enjoy camping, I’m sure you and your kids will love it once you get started. So, if you’re looking for something completely different this season, why not consider camping with your kids!
