🐘 India, a place I have been fascinated about for years and finally had a
chance to visit for 7 weeks a few seasons ago.

Living on the west coast of 🍁 Canada, we have a huge population of people from India.
I have worked with many and hear their stories and adventures of visiting and having lived in this vast country.

Because of the extreme size of 🐘 India, it is difficult to decide just when and where to visit as well.
This was the case, much like when we planned our first visit to 🦘 Australia.
Below, is a …

🌺 Brief Introduction to India 🌺

in collaboration with my guest author; Tom Blackburn.

This post offers inspiration to stop thinking about traveling to India, but actually plan a visit one day, as I did. 😎

The Best Time Of Year To Visit India

It’s important to time your trip correctly, as the Indian climate can certainly be;
♨ intense. Many people may struggle to cope with the intense heat in parts of the
country, at certain times of the year.

The best time to visit India is between Late October, when
the 🌧 monsoon season draws to a close and the Middle of March.

It’s worth remembering that conditions are likely to be particularly ☀ hot and
humid in April and May. So if you are used to more temperate conditions, this is something
you should definitely bear in mind.
The 🌧 rainy monsoon season starts towards the end of May.

Diwali Festival India

In addition, Diwali is usually held in; late October-early
November each year. This festival tends to last for about ten days during that period.

“Diwali is without a doubt one of the most celebrated festivals in India.
Diwali, which is also known as the festival of lights, begins on Dhanteras and ends on
Bhai Dooj.”

If you want to experience India at its most festive time, then this is when to go.

Beware sign

Beware, tourist destinations will be very busy and accommodation may be particularly
expensive and hard to come by, during this period. Be sure to book your accommodations
well in advance, particularly in larger cities where larger festivities are held.

It’s certainly not the time to go if you are looking for a relatively quiet trip!

Making The Most Of Your Trip to India

Old India Travel Poster

If you are visiting India for the first time, then you might be tempted to try and
squeeze as many different destinations into your trip as possible. However, given the
sheer size of the country and unless you plan on visiting for a very lengthy stay,
this would be very difficult.

It’s better to concentrate your first trip around one particular area, and explore that
corner of India first. If and/or when you decide to visit again, you can experience
another part of the country.

You just won’t be able to see absolutely everything you want to on just one trip,
so it’s pointless to even try. By sticking to one part of the country, you will cover
less ground, but you will be able to get better acquainted with the attractions in
that particular region.

Discover India for an unforgettable experience!

Final Thoughts Banner

This is was just a very small introduction for those thinking of traveling to India.
I was finally able to travel to this amazing country a few seasons ago with my son.
We toured around the country for 7 weeks, visiting a variety of exciting places along
the way.

It was an experience like no other!

Often overwhelming at times with the crowds, noise and surrounding poverty, but
traveling throughout the country and experiencing the food and culture, was an
incredible adventure.

I do hope to return once again very soon, to see more of this vast and amazing country.
I have a number of detailed posts and photos here that I’ve shared on our experience
and journey.

Of Special Note

I traveled to many parts of India on my own as an older adult, after parting with my
son who ventured off to a 🙏 Yoga/Meditation Retreat. Not once did I feel
uncomfortable or unsafe during my solo travels.

I encourage everyone and especially older individuals like myself, that have always
thought of and would like to travel to India, to go!
I’ve put together a detailed post on …

that I encourage you to check out. Hopefully, it will offer inspiration to travel
to this historical and spiritual country.

I’ve also listed the 🌺 Official India Tourism link below to their website for
