Once you open the doors to the museum you will become awe inspired, immediately taking you a step back in time. The collection of vintage automobiles, gas and oil products, signs and much more will simply leave you breathless!
Both my wife and I told one another, that of all the historic museums we have visited around the world, this one without a doubt, was the most beautiful in its class. It is by far, the largest collection of automobiles and memorabilia we have ever seen put together in one location.
There are literally thousands of automobile memorabilia items here, of which most date back well before the Second World War.
Located in the 1930s Heritage Town Square, Gasoline Alley Museum is open year round together with its surrounding shops, café and restaurant for visitors to enjoy.
The Museum’s Enormous Collection
Having been a true collector of vintage automobiles and artifacts, Calgary’s local resident Mr. Ron Carey decided to donate his enormous collection to Heritage Park. This was an extremely generous donation on his part, as many of the automobiles in this outstanding collection are simply priceless!
He wanted his collection to be permanently housed, maintained and displayed in a museum of this type for the world to enjoy for years to come.
Many of the items you see on display in Gasoline Alley Museum were meticulously restored by Mr. Carey and staff over the years. When viewing the collection, you will see the labor of love he put into these autos and other artifacts that are on display for you to enjoy.
Interactive Museum for All Ages
The beautiful displays throughout the building will certainly grab the attention of visitors of all ages. Kids will enjoy the many interactive and educational displays. Heritage Park serves as a wonderful destination for the whole family to enjoy and at the same time, educating visitors of what life was like many years ago.
